Robert "Bobby" Gardner
age 69, of 228 Keyes Street, Sherrodsville, Ohio, died Wednesday evening, December 6, 2017 in Union Hospital at Dover after a long illness. He was born January 9, 1948 in Massillon, Ohio, and was the son of the late Rolla and Marjorie Kelly Gardner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Danielle Johns, a granddaughter Adilyn Johns, three brothers and seven sisters. He retired after a lifetime of driving truck for many area trucking companies. He was an enthusiastic outdoorsman who preferred activities such as camping and fishing. Bob was a caring individual whose compassionate and helpful nature extended to family, friends, and especially to his love of animals. He was generally a humble man, but possessed a wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Hilton Gardner, whom he married December 27, 2002; three daughters: Jodi Mobley of Massillon, Mrs. Bobbi Jo (Ell) Tucke of East Canton, Ohio, and Mrs. Lisa (Brian) Armstrong of Malvern, Ohio; a son, Derek Johns of Smithville, Ohio; a sister and a brother, Carol Gardner and Jack Gardner, both of Massillon; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville, with Rev. Kenneth Ogg officiating. Interment will follow in the Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. I miss you more and more each day grandpa , i wish i could of seen you one more time before god got another angel ..i love you so much and knowing that your gone and i'm not gonna be able to see you when i go to grandmas just breaks my heart into pieces. You were a great grandpa and you always made me smile when i was sad . i wanted to thank you for everything you have done for me , especially when i was a baby you took care of me when my mom couldn't , you always gave me something to do when i was bored ..you always played with me and watched my kiddie shows ...and always got me my chocolate milk no matter what you were doing . RIP grandpa you'll always be in my heart forever and always ...12.6.17 :(
