Robert Wells Horsley 1951-2017
65, Mercer, Pa., passed away at Countryside, Mercer, Pa., on July 9, 2017 at 12:55 a.m. after an extended battle with acute myeloid leukemia. He was born in Wyandotte, Mich., on July 16, 1951, to Jack and Ruby Bucklew Horsley. Mr. Horsley married Christi Aringdale Horsley on June 23, 2006. Bob was a steel mill supervisor and a substitute teacher for Mercer Area School District. He attended Eastern Michigan University and graduated from Kent State. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mercer, Pa.
Mr. Horsley is survived by his wife, Christi M. Horsley in Mercer; five children: Craig T. Horsley and his wife Brittany Deehr Horsley in Howland, Ohio, Jessica A. Horsley and her fiancé David Loomis, Jr. in Waterford, Mich., Christopher A. Dunn and his wife Michelle Keetch-Dunn in Las Vegas, Elizabeth A. Dunn in Mercer; Ian G. Dunn and his wife Miosha Saavedra-Dunn in Mesa, Ariz.; one brother, Jack Horsley and his wife Nancy in Newport, Mich.; four granddaughters: Addilyn Grace, Madison Margaret, Klaire Janelle, Emma Page; also survived by many aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Don Horsley.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 100 Penn Avenue, Mercer, PA 16137 on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., with Father Matthew Kujawinski officiating. Visitation will be held at Cunningham Funeral Home, 144 S. Pitt Street, Mercer, PA 16137 on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff at Countryside for their compassion and support for the entire Horsley family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: Mercer Area School District Business Office, 545 W. Butler Street, Mercer, PA 16137 with a memo for the Elementary Arts Program.
