Vivian L. Cossentino 1926-2017
age 91, of Jackson Twp., passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017. She was born July 22, 1926, in Mansfield, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Texas E. and Sylva (Hess) Dyer. Vivian enjoyed reading and researching her family genealogy. Through her research she was able to trace all four branches of her family, one branch to the 900's in France. She had ancestors in all four branches that served in the Revolutionary War. Her family came to Ohio in the 1700's. She recently gifted her husband's extensive arrowhead collection to the Massillon Museum.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Kathleen and Kim Sirean, Mary and Michael Stewart and Sylvia and Bill Triesel; and two half brothers and half sister, Ed, Frank and Ann; grandchildren: Peter “Bud” Soehnlen, Philip Soehnlen, Matthew (Andrea) Stewart, Michele (Jason) Herget, Christopher Sirean; and great-grandchildren: Madeline, Austin, Cade, Alana, Andon and Alexa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Philip Cossentino.
Funeral services will be held at Heitger Funeral Home - Jackson Chapel on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Edward Gretchko officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Massillon.
