Mary E.
(Katich) Fladung
age 92, of Canton, passed away Feb. 24, 2014 at her home following an extended illness. She was born July 27, 1921 in Canton, the daughter of the late David and Rosa (Luvics) Katich. She was a former employee of the Weber Dental Company. Mary was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville and was a member of the former St. Paul's Catholic Church in Canton where she was a long standing member of the Altar and Rosary Society, serving as Vice President and Chairman of the annual card party.
She is survived by her son, Richard (Rita) Fladung of Cleveland; daughters, Anita (Stan) Schwartz of Louisville and Charlene Fladung of Canton; grandchildren, Kenneth (Stephanie) Schwartz of Columbus, Alicia Schwartz of Bowling Green, Ohio and Joseph Fladung of Pittsburgh, Pa; great-grandson, Collin Schwartz of Columbus; sister, Mildred Young of Louisville; sister-in-law, Lucille Fladung of Louisville and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Albert 'Bob' Fladung; two brothers, Anthony and Michael Katich and two sisters, Francis Brahler and Barbara Schmucker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mary Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Larry Frient officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Mary's family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. The family would like to thank Dr. James Johns, Mercy Hospice and her home health aide, Shirley Wright as well as her special friends and family who visited and helped with her care, especially Dee Mennet, Sue Butt and Beverly and Jodi Frenz. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Mercy Hospice, St. Louis Church or the .
