Mary Jo Casper
Age 76, of Minerva, died Sunday, March 23, 2014 in the Great Trail Care Center. She was born May 12, 1937 in Youngstown to Thomas and Mary (Carney) Foltz. She retired from the Minerva Local School District where she was the school nurse for 14 years. She is a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Minerva, the Catholic Woman's Club and the Minerva RN's Assoc. She graduated from Youngstown Ursuline High School and graduated from the Aultman School of Nursing in 1958. She enjoyed her yard and flowers and also enjoyed traveling and playing golf.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Casper who died in 2013, her parents, Thomas and Mary (Carney) Foltz and a brother, Thomas Foltz, Jr. She is survived by a sister, Patti (Rob) Ailes of Tampa, Fla.; brother, Joseph Foltz of Staten Island, N.Y., brothers-in-law, Joseph (Lorene) Casper of Malvern and Gregory (Helen) Casper of Charlotte, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Sara (Bruce) Pumphrey of North Canton and Jeannie Casper of Canton and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Minerva with Fr. Anthony Batt as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Francis Catholic Church Cemetery in Malvern. Calling hours will be two hours prior to services at the church from 9-11 a.m. The family would like to thank the staff at the Great Trail Care Center for their loving care.
