John C. Hinton
95, passed away March 26, 2014. He was born on June 25, 1918 the son of Russell and Leona Hinton in North Canton. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII he was one of the last "Greatest Generation". He was a member of the American Legion Post #44, the VFW Post #5047 and the McKinley Eagles #2370. John retired from Dominion East Ohio Gas Company after 38 years of service. John enjoyed playing golf anytime he could even working at Elms Country Club golf course. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 58 years, Virginia M. Hinton; son Jack E. Hinton; two brothers; and one sister. John is survived by his loving family, daughter Patricia (Gary) Suter; grandchildren, Debra ( Nick) Schlabach, Denise Cummins, and John Gary (Monica) Suter; great-grandchildren, Marisa Suter, Bryce Suter, Nick Schlabach II, Luke Schlabach and Carli Cummins; sisters Pearl Reikowsky and Phyllis Snyder; and special friend Harriet Boker.
Family and friends may join the family, Friday at 11 a.m. at East Union Lawn Cemetery (48 E. 4th St . Navarre 44662) for a graveside service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice (1742 Georgetown Rd Hudson, Ohio 44236).
