Clotilde M. 'Clo' Hynd
of Massillon, passed away quietly early Thursday morning, April 3, 2014, the date of her 80th birthday. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, April 3, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John G. and Clotilde J. (Weisz) Ganter. She graduated from Canton Central Catholic High School with the Class of 1952, and had worked for a time as a clerk in the Building Department for the City of Massillon. Clo lived her faith daily as a devoted wife and mother and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Massillon; actively serving the parish as a Eucharistic Minister and lector, member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and as coordinator of the annual Christmas Giving Tree. In her leisure time she enjoyed reading.
Predeceased by her parents; her husband, John A. Hynd and daughter, Clotilde F. 'Cookie' Hynd; she is survived by her son, John W. 'Bill' Hynd, of Massillon; sisters-in- law, Charlotte (Alex) Vuchak and Catherine Lee, all of Vienna, Ohio, a brother-in-law, Robert McKim of Fenton, Ark. and and several cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. A. Edward Gretchko on Monday, April 7, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon Monday morning from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Warmest thanks are extended to the staff of the Legends and Crossroads Hospice for the care Clo had received and to Nancy Eberhardt for her friendship and kindness.
