Raymond C. Myers
The Guest Book is expired.
83, of Massillon, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Born December 1, 1930, in Piney, WV, a son to the late William H. and Mary E. (Harris) Myers, Raymond was a Korean War veteran, serving with the US Army. He worked briefly for Ohio Paper Products and retired in 1987, after 27 years of service with the Massillon Post Office. Following retirement, he worked at Lindsey's Sweeper Mart. He was everything to everyone in his family. He was the go-to guy anytime you had a car problem, a household project or just wanted to bounce something off of when you weren't sure what to do. He was a hard-working, honest man who loved going to flea markets, listening to Johnny Cash records and watching westerns, but most of all having another great homemade meal by his wife, who he considered the best cook around, with his family. His friends and family all loved his great sense of humor. We miss you already.
Predeceased by his parents; and a brother, John Myers. Raymond is survived by his wife, Sarah L. (Ash) Myers; daughters, Vickie (Jerry) Wayman and Sharon (Randy) Stuck, all of Massillon; son, Steve (Janet) Myers, of Rock Bridge, Ohio; grandchildren, Tracy (Chad) Jenkins, J.R. (Jessica) Drennen, Joe Myers, Mellisa Myers and Chelsea Wayman; and great-grandchildren, Blake and Brock Jenkins and Aven Myers; four sisters; and two brothers also survive.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday evening at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the American Thoracic Society or Homes for Our Troops.
