William G. Weimer
age 89, of Massillon, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Brewster Parke Convalescent Center. He was born on Dec. 3, 1924 in Massillon and was the son of the late Leo and Sara (Giauque) Weimer. Bill served his country during World War II with the U.S. Navy. He then went on to work at Diebold, Inc. He was a member of the Navarre Post of the V.F.W., the Beach City American Legion, Cypress 604 F.&A.M. where he was a member for more than 50 years and was a Past Master and the Tadmor Shrine Club.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Esther (Scheufler) Weimer in 1979, his brother, Dale Weimer and his longtime companion, Judy Hogen in Dec. of 2013. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gloria Jeanne and Bill Kemp; his grandchildren, Gretchen Weisse and Heidi Oestreich; his great-grandchildren, Erika, Steven, Aaron 'AJ', Gary and Skylee and his three great-great-grandchildren, Ziya, Jay'Viar and Khyra
Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. David L. Andrews officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at South Lawn Cemetery in Beach City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12-1 p.m. There will be a Masonic service at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
