Mildred G. Parrish
Age 83, of Canton passed away late Friday peacefully at Timken Mercy Hospital after a sudden illness. Born in Wytheville, Va., she had lived in Canton, Ohio for years. She was retired from Timken Roller Bearing Company with a distinguished service award of fifteen years and 8 months; and was a member of the Valley Chapel Brethren in Christ Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Parrish and David Price Brooks; and son, David Lee Brooks.
Mildred is survived by daughter, Christine (John) Eaves of Florissant, Mo.; son, Rodney (Mary Jane) Brooks of Harrisburg, Pa.; six grandchildren: Sheena Brooks of Columbus, Ohio, Courtney Eaves and Richard Eaves of Florissant, Mo., Anneka Brooks of Canton, Ohio, John (Jacque) Eaves, Jr., Fredericksburg, Va., and Kerry Eaves, Pine Bluff, Ark.; and six great grandkids. Ms. Millie enjoyed reading the bible and watching Judge Judy, Dr. Phil and Steve Harvey…..she was also a senior volunteer for the United Way and the Samaritan's Table.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, with the viewing beginning at 10 a.m. and funeral at 11 a.m. at Valley Chapel Brethren in Christ Church, 1045 Trump Ave. N.E., Canton, Ohio, with the Rev. Dr. Charles Burkett, Pastor, officiating services. Interment will follow at the Forest Hills Cemetery.
