Russell R. Varner
age 63 passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 30, 2014. He had worked as a systems analyst for the Hoover Company in North Canton from 1976 to 2004 and currently worked for Timken Company. Russ loved his family and his wonderful friends. He loved golf and volunteering through the United Way and worked on his days off at the Canton Food Pantry. Riding motorcycles and traveling was his passion. He was a member of Rubber City Harley Davidson Riders and North Canton Eagles #2223. Russ was unselfish and always wanted to help others. He was a great father and husband. His first thought was always of his children; "His greatest Prize in Life". He will be greatly missed and loved always.
Russ is survived by his wife, Mary Alice (Blucker) Varner; son, Russell Cale Varner; daughter, Sarah Marie Varner and her finance, Bradley Capps. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Kathryn Varner.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Heitger Funeral Home-Jackson Chapel 5850 Wales Ave., N.W., Massillon, Ohio 44646. Any donations may be made to United Way of Greater Stark County, 4825 Higbee Ave. N.W., Canton, Ohio 44718. Please leave condolences at
