Lydia M. Kendig
97, passed away on July 9, 2014 at the Inn at Belden Village. Lydia was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio. She was active with the Great Trail Council of the Girl Scouts, was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the church Missionary Society and the Plain Township Fire Department #3 Ladies Auxiliary. Lydia was a book keeper for may years retiring from Heinemann Saw Corp., loved to read and do puzzles.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy; grandson, John H. Shaver III; one sister and four brothers. She is survived by her son, David Kendig; daughters, Janet Shaver and Sally Hoce; grandchildren, Julie (Michael) Ware, Alex Hoce and Trevor Kendig and great-grandchildren, Collin and Carson Ware and Xavier Kendig.
Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel with Rev. Anita Rayburn officiating. Family and friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday July 10, 2014 and from 10-11 a.m. Friday prior to the service. Interment will take place at Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice or the Inn at Belden Village.
