Gladys M. O'Brien
81, of Massillon, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014, at her home. She was born on Feb. 14, 1933, in New Cumberland, Ohio. Gladys had been a waitress at the former Red Lantern. Her home was her pride and joy. She kept it immaculately and was ready to entertain at a moment's notice. Her passion was going to auctions at Rex's Salvage and traveling with the love of her life. She was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Black; her parents, Frank and Susie Fry; and two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her loving, devoted husband, Carl E. O'Brien whom she married on April 5, 1966; her children: Michael (Brenda) Black, Tami (Kevin) Crawford and Kelly O'Brien and beloved daughter- in-law Veronica O'Brien Baker; her step-daughters: Sharon (Donnie) Rittenhouse and Carol (David) Horst; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and her sweet dog Summer.
A family celebration of her life will be held to share our great memories at a later date. Please think of her fondly as you remember her life. She will be sadly missed. To leave an online remembrance, visit:
