William 'Pop'
Hattery
95, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, following a brief illness. He was born on May 14, 1919 in Cleveland to Pete and Bessie Hattery.
Pop was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Faye; and seven brothers and sisters. He leaves behind three children, Sandi (John) Brakus of Canton, Bud (Lori) Hattery of Navarre and Connie (David) Barnett of Massillon; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers and two sisters.
Pop was the custodian at Myers School for 23 years and worked at Paquelet Funeral Home and Alices Restaurant in Navarre. He was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Army. He was one of the workman on the Hoover Dam Project. Pop was a member of Massillon Baptist Temple and served as head usher for a number of years.
Friends and family may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 28, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Paquelet Funeral Home, Pastor Cecil Thayer, officiating.
