R. Jayne Clay
age 87, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the Laurels of Massillon following an extended illness. She was born on May 25, 1927 in New Philadelphia, Ohio to Hugh and Esther (DeWitt) Downing. She graduated in 1945 from Washington High School and worked at O'Neil's PCA and Town & Country Restaurant. Jayne was of Lutheran faith and she enjoyed building doll houses, making latch hook rugs, planting flowers, cooking, home decorating, and shopping. She especially loved her Siamese cats, Kayla and Jada.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John W. Clay; son, Michael R. Eisenbrei; and sister, Maxine Bugh. Surviving her is her daughter, Pamela (David) Slabaugh; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Eisenbrei; grandchildren, Kevin Eisenbrei, Joseph DiGiacomo, Kim (Marc) Hampton, and Jessica Floom; great-grandchildren, Cassandra Floom, Joseph Croston, Jordan Porco, and Eric Porco.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made in Jayne's memory to the , Greater East Ohio Area Chapter, 70 West Streetsboro St. Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236. 'Mom, you will always be with me for the rest of my days, until I can be with you again.' Love you mom.
