age 70 of Massillon, Ohio, passed away on Aug. 8, 2014, after an extended illness. George was born on June 24, 1944 in Corinth, Miss. to parents, Hudie and Ethel Stafford. After leaving the military, George began working in the manufacturing industry for a number of years. Following that industry, he entered in to the retail business and he remained there until his retirement.
In addition to his parents. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Lillie White, sisters, Paulette Daniels and Giselle Red. Survivors include his wife of forty-five years, Velma Stafford; four children, George Allen of Plantersville, Miss., Richard (Dorothy) Stafford of Water Valley, Miss., Karen Varner of Columbus, Ohio and Marc (Vanessa) Stafford of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Bobby (Jessie) Stafford of Massillon, Ohio and Greg Stafford of Milwaukee, Wis.; four sisters, Marie Hall, of Booneville, Miss., Jean (T.L) Hurd of Booneville, Miss., Yvonne Daniels of Massillon, Ohio and Faye Conley of Canton, Ohio; two aunts, Faye Gillespie and Pauline Hines both of Gary, Ind; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather in the Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon, OH 44646 from 12p.m.-1p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014 with a funeral service to be held at 1p.m..
