Lucille Eldora Ebie
age 90, passed away Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 in Dalton, Ohio. She was born Feb. 20, 1924 in Rittman, Ohio to Edwin and Ada (Henderlong) Grossenbacher. Lucille was a member of the Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church and Grace Church and was known as the 'Cookie Lady'. She enjoyed crafts, garage sales, being involved with her grandkids and cooking for people at shindigs.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Walter L. Case and Austin J. Ebie; sisters, Minnie Sweigert and Ruth Aebi; brothers, Joe, Vernon, and Lewis Grossenbacher; and grandson, Daryl Wagner. Lucille is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Larry) Steiner, Nancy (Michael) Vlasaty, and Wilma (Norman) Huff; grandchildren, Cindy (Rick) Schilling, Norman Huff Jr., Michael (Yukari) Vlasaty Jr., Benjamin (Sayaka) Huff, and Nathan Vlasaty; great-grandchildren, Daryl and Randy Schilling, Keiko and Midori Vlasaty, and Cody and Faith Huff; sister, Geneva Joyce; sister-in-law, Louise Grossenbacher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Chapel of the Cross UMC 14411 Orrville St., North Lawrence, Ohio 44666. The funeral service will be held at the church at 12 p.m.Tuesday with Rev. Bob Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Newman Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Lucille's memory to: Lifecare Hospice, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, Ohio, 44691, Chapel of the Cross, or Grace Church, 13 SE 21st Pl., Cape Coral, FL, 33990.
