Thomas Pride Jr. Obituary
Thomas Pride, Jr.
age 79, passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014 following an extended illness. Born Aug. 12, 1937 in Huntsville, Ala., to Thomas and Izlor (Tibbs) Pride, Sr. He attended McKinley High School and was a US Army Vietnam War Veteran. He retired from Supervision at Republic Steel and retired from Ryder in Augusta, Ga.
Preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie M. Pride; his parents, Thomas and Izlor Pride, Sr.; brothers, Tibbs and Hundley Pride; nephew, Keith D. Cheek. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, April (Chenault) Jerry McLeod and one grandson, Alec Jorel McLeod; three sisters, Edmonia Jefferson of Huntsville, Ala., Marie (Lawrence) Cheek and Hundlean Dykes all of Canton. Ohio; devoted nieces, Michelle Cheek and Krystal Robinson; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Thomas was blessed with a devoted brother-in-law, Lawrence Cheek Jr; friend, Clarence Thomas (CT) and his Ryder Trucking family all of Augusta, Ga.
Services will be conducted at Rhoden Memorial Home at 729 Cherry Ave. NE, Canton, Ohio. Calling hours are Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 from 10 a.m.- 12 noon. Funeral service begins at 12 noon followed by Interment at North Lawn Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to 1004 Bellview Street NE. Canton, OH 44721.
