Bernice J. Perry
Bernice J. Perry, age 88, of Canton passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in Aultman Hospital. She was born in Canton on June 3, 1919 to the late Murry and Carrie Smith and attended Canton McKinley High School. Most of her life was spent doing what she loved most; caring for her family. Bernice was a life long member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church, she enjoyed the Cleveland Indians sports teams, puzzles, and her feline friend, "Whiskers". In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Francis "Red" Perry who died in 1979, seven sisters; Ethel Pelliter, Velma Menegay, Beatrice Kemper, Orpha Harper, Ruth Garsey, Myrtle Schissler and Elsie Bellinski, two brothers; Wilber and Ernest Smith, grandson, Craig Hissong. Survivors include her two daughters; Nancy Hissong of Columbus and Cheryl (Steve) Harmon of Canton, five grandchildren; Steve (Debbie), Scott (Lori), Mike, Carla (Richard), and Christine (David). There are 15 great grandchildren, and several other special family members also surviving. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2008 in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel with Pastor, Tim Muse officiating. Burial will be private on Tuesday in Warstler Cemetery.
