Hartley W. Johnson
Age 91, died Wednesday after a short illness. He was a life resident of Canton. Hartley was a 1937 graduate of McKinley High School, 1945 graduate of Mount Union College, and had attended the Akron University Law School. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the St. Peter Holy Name Society. Hartley was a World War II veteran.
Survived by his wife of 62 years, Geraldine W. (Winzeler) Johnson of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Jerry Moyers of North Canton; son, Todd Johnson of Columbus; five granddaughters, Erin, Abbey, and Caroline McGaughey, Mollie (Troy) Racin, and Heather Johnson; sister-in-law and brother-in- law, Betty and Bob O'Brien of North Canton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Hartley T. and Ida Johnson and two sisters, June Thompson and Evelyn Buss.
Family and friends will meet at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Monday at 11 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial with Fr. Joseph Witmer as Celebrant. Entombment with Military Honors will be in North Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call Monday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the House of Loreto or St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Lamiell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be made to:
