Vincent Farelli Obituary
Vincent
'Jimmy' Farelli
77 years old, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, Feb. 5, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center from complications following a stroke. He was born in Canton, Ohio on Nov. 5, 1935 to the late Louis and Enrichetta (Boccuti) Farelli. He graduated from Timken High School in 1953. He was a member of St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish. He was employed as a salesman for Sterling Bakery for four years before joining Frito-Lay. With Frito-Lay, he was transferred to Toledo, Ohio as a District Sales Manager and later to Cleveland as a Regional Sales Manager. Following a year with Bachman Foods in the Boston area, he rejoined Frito-Lay and moved to Maryland. After three years, he was transferred to New York as the Divisional Sales Manager of the Tri-State area and retired as Director of Sales in New York in 1997 (after 33 years in the snack food business). After his retirement, he moved back to Canton to reside. He enjoyed playing golf with his many friends that he made at Tam O'Shanter Golf Course and was quite proud of his hole-in-one. He was an avid sports fan and knew facts and trivia like no other! He always looked forward to the Christmas Eve party at his home with his family. In the warmer months, he enjoyed sitting on his deck watching the birds while smoking his cigar. He loved watching Jeopardy and loved to gloat when he got the answers right.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Louis, Joseph and Mark. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Greta (Ericksen) Farelli and his beloved daughter, Lori Conti (Ralph) of Atlanta, Ga.; cherished grandchildren, Bridget, Timothy and Kathleen McGinty of Lakewood, Ohio; brother, Don (Anita); sisters, Rosemary Powley and Eve Fishberg (Dr. Alan); and sister-in-law, Lucille Farelli, in addition to many devoted nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish with Rev. Fr. Tom Bishop as celebrant
