Linda Kay Burden, 71, of Evergreen died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Life Care Center of Evergreen with her husband, Ray, at her bedside.
She was born in 1941 in Blair, Okla., to Jaunita and Roy Pryor. Linda married Ray Bob Burden in 1961 and came to Denver shortly thereafter, then moved to Evergreen in 1965, which had been home since.
Linda grew up with two older sisters, Sue and Barbara. She and Ray have two sons, Kevin and Brent, and have enjoyed and enriched the lives of five grandsons: Sam, Ben, Thomas, Michael and Jonathan. Two daughters-in-law, Kathy and Teresa, whom she loved dearly, supported her and brought a little balance into the family. Brent and Kathy live with their three sons in Lake Forest, Ill. Sister Barbara and husband O.W. live in Altus, Okla. Kevin lives with his two sons, Sam and Ben, in Highlands Ranch.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Jaunita, and her sister, Sue.
Soon after moving to Evergreen, Linda discovered that she had a talent for helping people decorate their homes. This passion eventually led to her starting her own interior design business, Columbine Interiors, which she managed for some 30 years. She led a very active life, enjoying a variety of sports and activities: basketball, tennis, racquetball, bicycling, hiking, camping and skiing. As a member of First Baptist Church, she served in various ministry roles throughout her life. Her spirit, grace, vitality and engaging smile will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held in her memory at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Evergreen, 29823 Troutdale Scenic Drive. Inurnment will take place at a date to be determined in her hometown of Blair, Okla.
