Nancy Ann Gayheart Kimlinger passed away on Dec. 26, 2013, after battling a seven-year illness. Nancy was determined to spend Christmas with her family. She passed away peacefully with family by her side holding her hands.
Nancy was born in Illinois on May 1, 1952, to the late Vanda and Kenneth Gayheart. Nancy often shared that her fondest childhood memories were in Winfield, Tenn., where close family resided and where her father spent a number of years as a minister. These close and early connections to the church began Nancy's passion to spread God's word.
Nancy retired at age 52 after working at organizations such as the Association for Retarded Citizens. Upon retirement, Nancy was driven to two of her greatest passions, genealogy and her mission to share God's word. Nancy belonged to Grace Fellowship of Lakewood.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Gayheart, and her mother and stepfather, Vanda and John Ortman.
She is survived by Dan Kimlinger of Lakewood; by her beloved three children, Michele of Ohio, Daniél "Dani" Kimlinger of Lakewood and Christopher Kimlinger of Lakewood; her stepmother, Kate, of Ohio; brothers David of California and Steve of Ohio; and sisters Renee and Becky, both of Ohio.
Nancy was inspirational to many all over the world and will be deeply missed.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at the small chapel at Evergreen Memorial Park. If you would like to attend the viewing, it will take place from noon to 1 p.m.
Donations may be made to the Deacon Fund at Grace Fellowship Church in Lakewood.
