Alice Irene Lenz, a longtime resident of Evergreen, passed away Aug. 19, 2013, at the age of 90.

Alice was born in 1923 in Eagle Bend, Minn. She married Lloyd Melvin Lenz on Dec. 9, 1944, in Eagle Bend. They spent many years living half the year in Evergreen and half in Donna, Texas, where they developed and managed retirement communities. They also enjoyed traveling in their motor home, visiting family and fishing on vacations in Minnesota, and gardening at their home in Evergreen.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, 10 years ago. She is survived by three daughters, Geraldine Swanson of Minnesota, Ann Bengtson of Evergreen and Penny Lambert of Denver, and son Gary Lenz of Texas. She is also survived by two brothers and four sisters in Minnesota. She has seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Evergreen Lutheran Church.
