Doris Huezo (1924 - 2018)

Doris Huezo, 94, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 5, 2018, in Evergreen. 
She was born to Francisco Antonio Huezo and Doris Rochefort Barron on May 10, 1924, in La Ceiba, Honduras, while her father was working on a civil engineering project. She was raised in New Orleans, Baltimore and Santa Tecla, El Salvador, before coming to Los Angeles in 1944.  
She worked in accounting for many years and retired after working 17 years at Flying Tigers Credit Union near her home in Playa del Rey, Calif.
She moved to Evergreen in 1988 to be closer to her only daughter and was thrilled to care for her two grandchildren. While in Evergreen, she was an active member of the community, making many dear friends while teaching a weekly Spanish group in her home, volunteering at the Life Care Center of Evergreen, and being an active parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church in Evergreen. ??   
Doris had a passion for traveling and visited many countries across Europe, Asia, South America, Australia and the Middle East. One of her most memorable trips was throughout the Holy Land in the Middle East and Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Over the years, she traveled to many places with her loving daughter and close friends. Aside from her travels around the world, she loved visiting her family in San Salvador, El Salvador and Santiago, Chile.??   
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Vincente of Merida, Mexico; Joyce of San Salvador; Gloria of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and Ricardo of San Salvador.??   
She is survived by her loving daughter Diana and son-in-law Richard of Evergreen; grandson Jonathan of Denver; and granddaughter Jennifer of Denver. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Esperanza Huezo of San Salvador, and many beloved nieces and nephews around the world.??   
Doris' final resting place will be with her family in Santa Tecla, El Salvador.?    ?   
Services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4291 Evergreen Parkway, Evergreen. The viewing and rosary will be from 10 to 11 a.m., a Catholic funeral Mass from 11 a.m. to noon followed by a reception at the church. 
In lieu of flowers, her family asks for donations to be made to Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice of Evergreen for the immeasurable love, care and support provided to Doris and her family throughout the final months of her life.
