Phoebe Helen Honula was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Feb. 27, 1922, and passed away peacefully on March 15, 2013, at the age of 91.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John "Jack" Honula, four sisters and one brother.
She is survived by her two daughters, Patrice Cusimano of Wauconda, Ill., and Lucy Ginley and son-in-law David Ginley of Evergreen; four grandchildren, Aimee Guillaudeu and her husband, Steve Guillaudeu, of Midland, Mich., Art Ginley and his wife, Lyudmila Ginley, of Evergreen, Bianca Cusimano of Austin, Texas, and Liza Cusimano of Milwaukee, Wis.; one great-grandson, Jason Guillaudeu; and her sister, Ruth Blum, of Ojai, Calif.
Phoebe and her quick wit, smile and laughter will be missed by all of her family and friends. She was an avid reader and always up to date on the local and world news. She enjoyed traveling, lived in many different states, and went on many adventures with her husband and children. Her last trip was a celebration of her 90th birthday with a trip to Hawaii, accompanied by her daughters. She enjoyed living at Green Ridge Meadow Apartments in Evergreen for the past 10 years. She particularly loved being close to Lucy and her family, David's extended family and her many friends at Green Ridge Meadow.
At her request, there will be no service. Her inurnment will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Ill., next to her husband.
