Obituary
The Guest Book is expired.

Dick Gilbert, 75, died at home on Dec. 20, 2012. He was a resident of Evergreen for 43 years, where he and his wife, Sharon, of 49 years raised their three children, Anne (Steve) McCreery, Amy Gilbert and Ernie (Julie) Gilbert.
He was born in Los Angeles in 1937, the youngest of seven children.
After high school, he served two years in the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged to care for his dying mother. He received a bachelor of arts degree from Long Beach State College. When he moved to Colorado in 1967, he began a long career as a real estate broker and owner of Mountain Property Investment Inc., servicing Denver, Fairplay and Breckenridge. Later he earned a master's degree in counseling from Denver Seminary, was ordained in the Baptist Church and worked for a short time as a hospital chaplain, followed by a few years as a biblical counselor in Evergreen.
Upon his retirement, Dick discovered his love for leather working. He crafted many things, from saddles to belts. He served on the board of the Colorado Saddle Makers Association.
In addition to his wife and children, Dick is survived by 13 amazing grandchildren and five beloved nieces and four wonderful nephews.
With his gifts of mercy, friendship and love, Dick touched many, many lives, and his smiling face will be deeply missed. He has "gone to glory."
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Conference Baptist Church, 27154 North Turkey Creek Road in Evergreen, followed by a reception next door at The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park.
