Shirley Stivers, 76, formerly of Evergreen, died Sept. 6, 2013, at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, Ill., after a decade-long struggle with cancer.

She was born in Davis County, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Verna Huggins.
Shirley touched the lives of everyone she met. While living in Evergreen, she was employed at Evergreen National Bank and Anderson's Mountain Market. Her interests included gardening, sewing, crafts and jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Wayne; son Mike (Ricci) of Sandy, Utah; daughters Terri Ferris (Joe) and Michele Thomas of Aurora, Ill.; brother wendell Huggins (Andrea) of Evergreen; sisters Viola Thomas and Pat (JB) Spurgeon of Iowa; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
According to Shirley's wishes, there will be no services.
