My heart goes out to the family. I worked with Stu in Permitting for several years, and I can not say enough about the kind of person he was, is was such a caring person both him and Yvonne, I appreciated him so much for all he had done for my family and daughter during my eight monthe in the hospital. The love they both had was one of a kind. I will miss him a great deal and sorry that we will not get that visit we planned, but now that you have your Wings I know you will be looking over everyone especially your family. We love you and will miss you, rest in peace my friend.

To Yvonne, Amber, Nate, and Michaela...our deepest love and condolences go out to you in your time of loss and grief. Your husband and Father was a remarkable person, love, and friend to all. He was warm and friendly and has left this world with a large impression of his love for you. You are great people and Stu is a huge part of who you are. His memory lives on in you, and through his selfless life. Your families will all miss him greatly and all he gave will be given to the wonderful Children, Grandchildren , as a result of that love between Stu and Yvonne. Cherish these blessings eternally. Love, Cathy and George Wightman.

Yvonne, Amber, Nate and Michaela, we are so very sorry for your loss. I have the best memories of Stu as he and I did so many things at Cook Park when we were so young. We lost contact over the years but he is one of the best I have ever met. He was truly a good person. I am saddened by his passing. You are all in our prayers.

Yvonne...I've been thinking of Stu and you nonstop since we heard the sad, sad news. Pat and I are wishing you and the kids peace, hope and comfort. Maybe the measure of a person is how many hearts are broken when they leave. Perhaps. Yet, Stu's life was beyond measure, and we'll all miss him and remember him until the end of our days. We send our love and sympathy.

I will always have fond memories of growing up with Stu. We played baseball, wrestled and played football together through high school. He was always a positive force on those around him. RIP my friend! Larry Lucero

Stu really was a good guy. I'm grateful for having known him. He was unwavering in his encouragement and support--even at the stair climb races! His unabashed love for his family and his Buffs was the sweetest thing to witness.
I'll miss you Stu. Rest in peace friend.

Going a few years back, Stu was coaching a young baseball team at Cook Park Recreation. I was amazed on how positive his coaching style was. When most coaches, in those days, were yellers. Stu was 100% positive. I quite often barrowed some of his phases and still use, till this day. I will miss the many conversations we had about competitive sports. It saddens me that I will not be able to attend his services. I will be in Arizona with my sons baseball team. I know he would understand, per are conversations. Rest In Peace, my friend

I will always think of Stu as the first person not in the family that our Daughter , 4 today, really took a liking to. She had to yell "HI Stuart" from our front step at any glimpse of him. She eventually would make a habit of navigating the steps and running down the side walk to see what he was doing. She is pretty happy to hear he is in Heaven with Jesus but misses him. Stu was a great neighbor that always had a smile and something to converse about. From the time we moved in in '08 I never saw him in action with the CU Flags he never failed to hang but what a passion for a team. Praying for the family because a great guy like him leaves a big void. Looking forward to better times with Yvonne on our quite street. He will be missed a great deal..

Stu was one of the nicest people I have worked with at Denver Parks and Rec. Always kind and friendly to everyone. He was also a good neighbor to us at SW center. His summer visits with the grand kids will be missed. My prayers go out to his lovely family for the untimely loss of someone so dear. My deepest sympathy to you all.
