James L. "Jim" Motley, 71, of Evergreen died peacefully at his home on Friday, March 8, 2013, due to complications of beryllium lung disease.
Jim had been a member of St. Laurence Episcopal Church in Conifer since 1984 and served on the vestry. He served as the treasurer of the St. Laurence outreach program and preformed many volunteer positions for his church.
Jim retired from Coors Brewing Co. in 1990. Jim was a member of the NSRA and participated in many street-rod activities and fund-raisers for numerous hospitals and charities. He built multiple street rods and won many trophies and awards for these vehicles. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Motley and Ruie Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sherry, and beloved sons Russ and Troy; grandchildren Brooke and Alex; two great-grandsons, four sisters and their families.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at St. Laurence Episcopal Church, 26812 Barkley Road in Conifer. There will be cremation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either St. Laurence Outreach, P.O. Box 361, Conifer, CO 80433; or to Mt. Evans Hospice, 3081 Bergen Peak Drive, Evergreen, CO 80439.
