John Thomas Obituary

John F. Thomas III, 67, a chemical company executive, died June 18 of heart failure. John was born to the late John Thomas Jr. and Emma Stevens Thomas in Baltimore. He was a 1963 graduate of Glen Burnie High School, and earned a bachelor's degree in 1976 from the Johns Hopkins University. He had been a resident of Crofton since 1976. John worked for W. R. Grace for 35 years, and later founded ChemSource East, Inc., where he was owner and president for 15 years. He enjoyed golf, and was a member of the Crofton Country Club. He was also an accomplished guitarist and keyboardist. Surviving are his beloved wife of 49 years, Marian; two children, Alayna Mande of Crofton and John Thomas IV of Edgewater; and four grandchildren. Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in John's name to the charity of your choice.
