Dear Henry, Mike, Tracy, Christopher, Patrick and Ryan,
Please accept my condolences on the passing on of your wonderful Wife, Mother and Grandmother Dee. I had the priceless gift of Dee being my co- worker, mentor, friend and inspiration for twenty years in ED at WHC. Dee always had energy, spunk , the answer you needed or knew who did if she didn´t, the heartiest laugh, quickest wit and a hard- working heart of gold , and loyal to her co- workers. From bowling to grandkids to all else in her life Dee always had a story to share , and a point to make . Dee did me the kindness for years of talking with my young son when he´d get home from school and check in with her at work as I was on my home ( before cell phones) just so he´d connect with someone til I got home, hence he called her Momma Dee. I looked up to, respected , enjoyed and loved Dee and learning she had passed, so sad. Peace and gratitude to Dee,and to each of you in her family- Dee made life brighter and better ,

Started employment at Washington Hospital Center 1980. Still there! I was evening supervisor in Admissions, Dee was working evening shift also in the emergency department. Those days it was an extended family, I had many visits to the emergency department when the census was sky-high, the E.D. was overflowing with patients waiting in-patient beds. Always had fun with Dee, Maryann, Dr. Harmon etc. Many times Dee was the charge-nurse, this was also during the A.I.D.S. epidemic, needless to say, working Admissions was quite a challenge. Many times, I had happy-hour with some nurses from the E.D. started around midnight. Dee was tough as nails, but exemplified respect, empathy, & courage to the umph degree. May she now be enjoying her eternal reward with Jesus, our Saviour.

I have so many wonderful memories of our time together, over four decades of working together, all the great trips we took, all the teas, brunches, lunches and dinners we had, and especially the laughs. I am heartbroken to have to say goodbye.
Dave and I send our prayers and best wishes to Henry, Mike, Tracy, Christopher, Patrick and Ryan.
