Eugene Seabolt Obituary



Eugene L. Seabolt, 70, of Palm Harbor, FL, formerly of Edgewater, MD and raised in Mt. Rainier, MD, died Wednesday, November 12 at Spa Creek Center in Annapolis, MD. He succumbed to metastatic melanoma. Born on May 21, 1944 to the late Philip B. and Margaret M. Seabolt, "Gene" graduated from Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, MD, then entered into the US Navy. He then became a firefighter in Washington, DC and retired at the rank of Lieutenant. After retirement, he owned a couple of small businesses. Gene was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the Emerald Society. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Veronica Blackstock. Surviving him is his wife of 22 years, Alexandra L.P. Seabolt of Florida; his former wife, Christine Seabolt; three children, Brady Seabolt, Gina Ritter and Katie Jordan, all of MD; two step-children, Eliza Evans and Lorien Covelly, both of MD; one sister, Pat Gallagher of MD; two grandchildren, Abigail Ritter and Jaxson Jordan. He is also survived by a tight knit group of friends from Mt. Rainier, MD. A public viewing will be held on Sunday, November 16 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 17 at 11am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended to Melanoma Awareness, American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.

My sincere condolences for the loss of Gene to his family and friends.
I went to Grade School with Gene at St. James School, Mt. Rainier, MD. He was always such a nice guy and occasionally I'd run into him at a union event. It seemed to me he hadn't changed, but was still the nice gentlemanly guy I went to school with.
I'll remember him in my prayers.
