Edwin Mentecki Jr.

 
 Edwin Mentecki, Jr., 68, of Ridgely, died November 21 at the Memorial Hospital in Easton.
  Born in Baltimore February 3, 1944, Mr. Mentecki was the son of the late Edwin Mentecki, Sr. and Marjorie Crumbliss Mentecki. He was a 1962 graduate of the Glen Burnie High School and attended the University of MD. He and his wife, Sandra (Erlbeck) Mentecki of Ridgely, were married June 24, 1973. 
They moved to Ridgely from Pasadena, MD in 1990. He had been an Annapolis City police officer for 15 years. He later retired from the Anne Arundel County Detention Center in 2006. He enjoyed to companionship of his dog Heidi, whom preceded him in death.
  In addition to his wife, Mr. Mentecki is survived by two sons, Troy E. Mentecki, Sr. and his wife Nadine of Denton and Russell H. Mentecki and his wife Sylvia of Glen Burnie; two sisters, Elaine Ferrara of Millersville and Marjorie Budraitis of Linthicum; five grandchildren, Keith, T.J., Stephanie, Garak, and Kira; and by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
  Friends may visit with the family from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday evening at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second Street in Denton. The family will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m.,Tuesday for visitors. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 27, at the St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church on First Street in Denton. The family will receive visitors at the Mentecki home in Ridgely following the service. A private interment will be 11 a.m., Wednesday in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5829 Ritchie Hwy, Baltimore.
  In lieu of flowers, the family requests for friends to send memorial donations to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
