Francis Bishop

Francis LeRoy Bishop, 81, of Frederick and formerly of Owings, died peacefully May 19 at his home. Born on December 29, 1931 in Bradford, PA, he was the son of the late Everett Charles and Lottie Ruth Lushbaugh Bishop. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and later served as a mechanic for the U. S. Government. He was also a member of Air National Guard. He was preceded in death by one brother, Aloice G. Bishop, and one sister, Edith M. Kelley. Married for 60 years, he is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Mae (Heath) Bishop. He is also survived by his children, Charles Bishop of Prince Frederick, and Catherine MacInnes and husband, Joe, of Frederick; grandchildren, David Tucker and wife Jen, Christi Tucker and Francis Bishop II, and J. Nicole Bishop. Five great-grandchildren Jaeden Tucker, Kaela Befano, Gwenyth Tucker, J. R. Hall and Lah-Zariah Bishop; and sister, Carolyn L. Frantz of Bradford, PA. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 24, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral Services will be held at 8 p.m. that evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at
