Henry Spears

Henry Eugene Spears, MSGT U.S. Air Force (Ret.), 80, a resident of Odenton since 1977, died September 21 at his residence. Born December 2, 1932 in Clayton, MO to the late Henry and Hildagarde Brown Spears, Henry served over 24 years in the U.S. Air Force. He followed his military career working in retail at Montgomery Wards in Laurel and also served as a training instructor with United Celebral Palsy. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odenton. He was a Star Trek and sports fan and enjoyed fishing and playing pinochle at the Senior Center. In addition to his parents, Henry is preceded in death by two siblings, Henrietta Jackson and Marion Hulsey. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. Spears; Son, Thomas Spears of Odenton; two daughters, Marie A. Spears (DiCarlo Blackwell) of Jersey City, NJ and Karen Spears Latzko (Mark) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; brother, Walter Spears of Arizona; sister, Ann Spears of Missouri; five grandchildren, Taylor and Sydney Blackwell, and Alexander, Dominic and Adriana Latzko; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Hardesty Funeral Home P.A., 851 Annapolis Rd., Gambrills. A Funeral Mass will be held 9 a.m., Friday, September 27 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odenton.
