June 2, 1947 - November 30, 2012
Dr. John Deale Hall Jr. was born on June 2, 1947 to Mr. and Mrs. John Hall Sr. in Annapolis, MD. A life-long Annapolitan, he graduated from Annapolis High School in 1965, where he was Captain of the Varsity basketball team. Dr. Hall attended the University of Maryland, and University of Georgia
College of Veterinary Medicine.
A beloved veterinarian for 40 years, Dr. Hall spent his life taking care of both the animals and the people of Anne Arundel County. He was a member of the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association, and had strong ties to the agricultural community. A member of the Annapolis Striders, he was a dedicated marathon runner. Running the Pikes Peak Marathon three times, he abided by the motto: "start slow, and taper off." For many years, he served as a coach for the Optimist Basketball League where his children played. Dr. Hall will be remembered by his love of gardening, music, sports, his dedication to his family and his friends, and his sense of humor. He was a loyal fan of the Maryland Terrapins and the Baltimore Colts.
He is survived by his wife, Megan; his son, Andrew; his daughters, Katelyn, Lindsay and Emma; his mother, Estelle (91), his brother, Richard Hall; and a very large and loving extended family. A memorial service will be held at the Annapolis Unitarian Church on Saturday, December 8, 2012. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM-11:00AM for beloved clients, friends and family. A service will be held from 11:15AM until 12:00PM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts or the Annapolis City Recreation and Parks Department.
