Joyce Wilson Obituary

WILSON, JOYCE ANN, 80, of Upper Marlboro passed away March 25, 2014 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie. She was born February 6, 1934 in Marion, IN to Francis and Faye (Christian) Clyde. After graduation from high school, Joyce attended St. Vincent School of Nursing in Indianapolis, IN. She then traveled to Washington, D.C. with her dearest friend and classmate, Justine, where they both found employment at Providence Hospital. Joyce Ann and Justine shared an apartment for two years in Washington, D.C., where upon graduation from Catholic University, Justine returned to Indianapolis, and Joyce Ann remained in D.C. Joyce Ann then met Francis Wilson at a Tall Club dance, and they were married on September 9, 1961. She and Francis had two sons and after ten years of being a homemaker, Joyce Ann began working for an OBGYN office. She later worked for Kaiser Permanente, and eventually found her passion of natural healing through organic foods. She was divorced from Francis in 1989. After suffering from a stroke, she was forced to retire. For the last year and a half, Joyce Ann has resided in an assisted living home. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Patrick Clyde. Joyce Ann is survived by sons Steven Josiah Wilson and wife Brenda of Sunderland, and Patrick Joseph Wilson of Upper Marlboro, a sister-in-law Sally Clyde of Valrico, FL, and a nephew Shannon Clyde of Round Rock, TX. Family and friends will be received Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 2-4 PM at Rausch Funeral Home, Owings, where a funeral service and celebration of Joyce Ann's life will be held Monday 11:00 AM. Joyce Ann was a beautiful woman in all ways. She was a good friend and classmate as we studied with Kathy Oddenino. We took turns driving to classes and back.

Our long-ago friendship is a very cherished memory for me.

I send my my love and prayers for you, Steven and Patrick, and your families. She always let us know how proud she was of you.

I can still hear Joyce's voice, speaking so proudly of you both, Steven and Patrick. The years fly by and we lose touch, but we never forget people who have touched our hearts and made a difference in our lives. Your mother was one of these people. Hold the good memories close. Our hearts go out to you and to everyone who was touched by Joyce. With much love, Lynne and Greg

Phyllis Branchflower and I have been remembering our years
with Joyce Ann with fondness. So many wonderful luncheons, NCGR meetings, trips to the iridologist in Glen Burnie. She has
been an important part of our lives.

Dear Steven and Patrick,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you say good bye to your beloved mother.
Joyce Ann was so proud of you and you were always so good to her.
We had a lot of happy days here in Chesapeake Harbour until she moved out Odenton way..
Now she is part of many of our fondest memories.
Love and prayers,
