Lauren Hanna

HANNA, LAUREN ELIZABETH, 25, of Arnold, MD, died May 23 in Martinsburg, WV. She was born August 13, 1986 in Columbia, MD to her parents, Mark and Allisoun Hanna. Lauren had a Bachelor's of Arts and History Degree from UMBC. She loved Hunter Jumper horseback riding, and was a member of the National Capital Hunter Jumper Championship Team. Lauren also enjoyed snowboarding, writing and studying holocaust history.

She was beloved by all who knew her, and lit up the room with her beauty and wit. Lauren was a scholar of the European Holocaust who did volunteer work at the Holocaust Museum. She was also an accomplished horseback rider, who loved to snowboard and to dance. She worked as a business analyst for Northrop Grumman, and had been accepted to graduate school for a Master's in Education, with plans to pursue a career teaching high school history. She will be dearly missed by all who were touched by her beauty, grace, compassion and humor. She was selfless, kind and non-judgmental. She is a light that cannot be replaced. In loving memory to our daughter Lauren Hanna.

She is survived by her parents, Mark H. Hanna and Alisoun K. Moore of Arnold, MD; her grandparents, Judith Dow of West Point, N.Y., and Jon and Carolyn Hanna of Port St. Lucie, FL; and her brother, Scott Hanna of Severn, MD.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, at Hardesty Funeral Home, P.A., 12 Ridgely Ave., Annapolis, MD. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, at St. Martin's in the Field Episcopal Church, 375 Benfield Rd., Severna Park, MD. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
