Nancy Leocha

Nancy Clarke Leocha, 89, died December 15, in Stuart, FL, where she had been living since 2010.
Born in Baltimore, she moved to Salisbury as a teenager, graduated from Wicomico High School, and attended Salisbury State Teachers College. Following her return to Baltimore, she worked for the Social Security Administration for several years. She moved to Annapolis in 1945, following her marriage in 1943 to Dr. Victor S. Leocha, who passed away in 1986.
Nancy raised her family in Annapolis. She was a member and past president of Inner Wheel of the Rotary Club of Annapolis, a member of the Anne Arundel Hospital Auxiliary, a life member and past vice regent of the court of Annapolis Catholic Daughters of America, and served as a troop leader and board member of the Girl Scouts. In 1995, Nancy moved to Easton, where she continued to enjoy the theater, travel, and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Clarke, and her brother, David Pitman Clarke.
She is survived by two sons, Stephen Leocha of Easton and John Leocha of Annapolis; three daughters, Lynn Leocha Yarbro of Arnold, Jane Leocha Barlow of Lemoore, CA, and Mary Jo Leocha Grell of Stuart, FL; three sisters-in-law, Martha Greer Clarke, Adelaide Leocha, and Alina Leocha Learned; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
An inurnment ceremony will be held for her family and friends in the spring at Arlington National Cemetery.
