Rachel "Rae" Cecilia Bailey, 50, a 24-year resident of Edgewater, died November 11 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
She was born August 3, 1962, and was a graduate of Mt. Eden High School in Mt. View, CA. Rachel served as a SP4 in the United States Army
and received the Army Service
Ribbon, M-16 Expert Qualification badge, Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Service ribbon and the Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development ribbon. She enjoyed riding her ironhorse, and loved her grandsons and living life to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Bailey on March 27, 2012; and her father, Philip Obershaw.
Rachel is survived by one son, Joshua Bailey of Edgewater; one daughter, Ashley Bailey and her husband, Eric Schoene of Centreville; two grandsons, Kaleb and Landen Schoene. She is also survived by three sisters, one brother, eight nephews and six nieces.
Friends are invited to Rachel's Life Celebration from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 19, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. A graveside service will be held at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.
