Robert Gates

GATES, ROBERT G., 78, of Frederick, MD passed away Monday, February 11, 2013, at home surrounded by his family. Born in Auburn, NY, Robert served in the Air Force for 13 years, was owner of the Tap Inn Restaurant located in SE Washington DC, and owned and operated the "Olde Towne Seafood Restaurant" located on Main Street in Annapolis, MD, with his wife and family members for 30 years. In addition to his passion for his family, he spent most of his spare time fishing. Robert is survived by his wife, Garyfalia Gates; daughters, Cynthia Schaefer, Marie Swift, Terry Austin; son-in-laws, Robert Schaefer and Ralph Swift; brothers, Paul and Glaude Gates; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert G. Gates Jr. and parents, Paul and Margaret Gates. The family had a private memorial service at home with a member of their clergy shortly after his passing. Robert donated his body to support scientific research, so there are no further plans for additional services.
