Thomas Donaldson Jr.

Thomas Emery Donaldson Jr., 63, of the Corn Valley section of Lebanon, Virginia, died July 25. Born February 12, 1950, in Annapolis, he was the son of the late Betty Mae Mills Donaldson and Thomas E. Donaldson Sr. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and worked as a mechanic for Rhodia Chemical in Baltimore for 19 years. Thomas attended Rosedale Church of Christ and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hiking, watching dirt track racing and loved people. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jean Swann. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Donaldson; sons, Thomas E. Donaldson III, and Timothy Donaldson; siblings, Robert (Bobby) Donaldson and Barbara, Ralph Donaldson and wife Laura, Alan Donaldson, Kenneth Donaldson and wife Joan, Brenda Donaldson, and Mary Jane Donaldson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m., prior to the funeral service at 2 p.m., on Monday, July 29, at Owens Funeral Service Chapel, with Jerry Edwards and Rusty Owens officiating. Pallbearers will be Bob Donaldson, Alan Donaldson, Kenny Donaldson, Gussy Walker, Roger Whittington and Bobby Lowe. Interment will follow at Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon.
