William Weitzell

WEITZELL, WILLIAM "BILL," 85, of Severna Park, died on December 25th. Bill was born in Baltimore but grew up in Severna Park where he lived for 80 years. He joined the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Department as a teenager and remained active as a member for over 70 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Elks, Moose, VFW, and Ocean City VFD. After serving in the Navy during the Korean Conflict, he worked as a civil engineer at Capitol Park in Washington, DC for over 40 years. Bill dabbled in photography and loved spending time at the beach, but what he enjoyed most was spending time with his family, friends, and his dog, Bailey. Bill is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy Weitzell; daughters, Terry Lessiak (Frank), Michele Skarwecki (Joe), Holly Hill (Steve), Mary Gent (Ken); sons, Grant Williams (Patty); Barron Weitzell (Debi), Gary Williams (Amy), Kevin Williams; sister, Marion Wheelus; 18 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A celebration of life will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 30th, 2013 at the Earleigh Heights Firehouse 161 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.
