Howard Flynn

FLYNN, HOWARD MALCOLM MAC, 87, of Brandywine, Maryland (formerly of Edgewater, Maryland) passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 6th at Bradford Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Clinton, Maryland. Mac was born in New York City on November 8, 1925, and grew up in Princeton, New Jersey. He graduated from Fork Union Military School in Virginia. He married the former Mary Lou Nelson in 1946. He was employed as a sound technician by Shrader Sound for several years before semi-retiring and doing various part-time projects such as repairing electric tractors, delivering newspapers, and selling soft-shell crabs. Mac loved boating and the Chesapeake Bay and loved his animals. He was a hummingbird magnet. In his younger days, his hobbies included tinkering with electronic and mechanical projects, gardening, repairing cars, boating, and go-cart racing. In more recent years, he enjoyed reading and watching the local birds. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; his five daughters, Anne Cavallero, Barbara "Chris" Wolfe (William), Linda Hebert (William), Deborah Cameron, and Honora "Honey" McDermott (Thomas); four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. The family is having a memorial service at his home in Brandywine on Saturday, August 10 at 3 PM. A special thank you goes to First Baptist Church of Upper Marlboro, the dedicated staff of the Chesapeake Hospice of Largo and the staff at Bradford Oaks Rehabilitation Center, who gave excellent and compassionate care to Mac and made him as comfortable as possible during his last days.
