Natalie Paine Obituary



On Friday October 7, 2016, Natalie Paine a 12-year resident of Annapolis and previously of Philmont, NY passed away after a long illness. Natalie was born on November 10, 1932 in New York to Norman and Genevieve Elston. She was a graduate of Hunter College and received a Doctorate in Education from Columbia. Natalie served the public school system in New York City, as an educator for over 30 years. She was an accomplished Jazz and Blues singer performing under the name Natalie Lamb. Her specialty of 1920's Jazz and Blues could be heard with many different bands including the Red Onion Jazz Band and the Peruna Jazz Band. In addition to her parents, Natalie was predeceased by her former husband William M. Ludlam, and her current husband Bruce Paine. She is survived by her children, Genevieve Houston-Ludlam of Lothian, Marguerite Ludlam of Arnold, and William H. Ludlam of Mountain Lakes, NJ; and twelve grandchildren. Family and friends will gather for a memorial service at Sunrise of Annapolis on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics Maryland, 3701 Commerce Drive #103, Baltimore, MD 21227. Online condolences and tributes may be left at www.KalasFuneralHome.com
