Cleo McCoy Obituary



McCoy, Cleo Charpentier, 85 of Odenton, MD passed away on November 4, 2015 from natural causes. Born May 17, 1930 in New Orleans, LA., the youngest child of Jeff & Anna Mae Charpentier and sister to John married to Lorraine. While living in MD the majority of her life, she kept the spirit of her hometown with her - Cajun cooking and love of Mardi gras endured. Cleo worked for UPS and retired after over 25 years. Active in the Community United Methodist Church of Crofton, she loved her church. Cleo participated in mission work in Zimbabwe Africa co-founding the ZIM VIM Emily/Cleo Orphan Trust. In lieu of flowers donations to the charity would be appreciated. Cleo leaves behind 2 children, Nolan McCoy and his wife Ingrid McCoy and Melody McCoy wife of Sandy Cardin. She was predeceased by her son Philip Bommarito and his wife Mary Ann. There are 7 grandchildren: Erica, Philip and Jeanine Bommarito, Lauren and Madeleine McCoy, and Trey and Sean McEntee. Beloved nephews: Kevin and Kenny and endless friends. Services will be held at Crofton United Methodist church 1690 Riedel Rd, Crofton on Sunday Nov. 8 @4:00pm. Hospitality to follow. I became acquainted with Cleo after signing up to pray for her on her first trip to Zimbabwe. She was so appreciative of my offer. Her smile and friendly greetings always brightened my day. I'll miss her. My condolences to her family.
