AUSTIN, JOHN (JACK) ELWOOD, 66, born in Chester and raised in Stevensville, and a long time resident of Pasadena, died in his home Sunday, November 10th. He was preceded in death by his loving partner of 29 years, Wayne White; father, Coulter Austin; mother, Betty Wolf; and step-father, Arnold Wolf. He is survived by sisters, Dixie Sala and Debra Wood; and brothers, Gene Austin, Mike Hoxter, and Dwight Hoxter. He served our country by fighting for our freedom in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he worked at the Social Security Administration until his retirement in 2010. He will be remembered by family and friends at a memorial on January 25th, 2014 from 12-4 at the VFW in Pasadena, Post 2462, 1720 Bayside Beach Rd.
