Linda Winchell, 66, a 13 year resident of Chester, died September 25 in Ellicott City, after an eight year battle with breast cancer. She was born on April 3, 1947 in Lubbock, TX to the late William and Nellie Logan. After retiring as an administrative assistant from Honeywell, she then worked for several years at ITT Exelis. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Winchell. Surviving her are two daughters, Sheri (Tim) Stevens of Ellicott City and Sonja (Mark) Harding of Henderson; two sisters, Lorraine (Lee) Haislip of Harwood and Lisbeth (Phil) Gardner of Ft. Pierce, FL; eight grandchildren, Robert, Ashley, Jessica, Brooke, Lily, Shepard, Emma and Ryan; and three great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Hailey and Sophie. Friends are invited to Linda's Life Celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m., on Monday, September 30, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
