WILSON, MARY LOU (NEE SPRING), 83, a 45 year resident of Severna Park, MD passed away on November 13th, 2013 of pancreatic cancer. Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Edward "Coach" Wilson, her sons Edward "Chip," Steve, Jim, Mark, and her grandchildren Jennifer, Haley, Carley, Tucker, Josh, and Dustin. Mary Lou is also survived by her brother, Bill Spring of Orlando, FL and her sister Peggy Logue of Grand Island, FL. Mary Lou grew up in Orlando, FL where she graduated second in her high school class. She was awarded a full academic scholarship to Florida State University where she transferred under a full March of Dimes scholarship to the Duke University School of Physical Therapy. She worked as a physical therapist with the Washington Redskins in Arlington, VA and at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, and taught at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Family was very important to Mary Lou, and she loved sailing, and completed the Newport Bermuda Race a number of times. She was one of the few women ever qualified to teach sailing to the Naval Academy Midshipmen and the Naval Academy sailing squadron. She loved wildlife, and all "critters" big and small. The family will receive friends at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home in Severna Park on Sunday November 24th from 1:00-3:00 pm followed by a brief service. Immediately following the service will be a reception and celebration of Mary Lou's life at the Severna Park Elks Club at 160 Truck House Rd. in Severna Park from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Interment will be on Monday November 25th at the Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, Maryland. The procession will leave from the Barranco Funeral home at 10:00 am on Monday.
